Themes

How do I change the theme?

Swipe left or right on the display, the area above the keys. Swipe the other way to go back to the exact theme you had before.

  • Prefer swiping anywhere? Turn on Settings › Themes › Two-finger theme swipe.
  • On a keyboard, press ] or Ctrl+→ for the next theme, and [ or Ctrl+← for the previous one.
Can I keep a theme I like?

Yes. Turn on Settings › Themes › Lock theme. Swipes and shortcuts then leave the theme alone until you turn it off.

Can I choose which styles I get?

Use Settings › Themes › Theme styles to pick from Material Expressive, NeoPOP, Retro and Neumorphism. New themes only come from the styles you choose. On Android 12 and later, Match my wallpaper builds a theme from your wallpaper’s colour.

A theme is hard to read. What can I do?

Every theme is checked for contrast before it’s shown, but you can ask for more: Settings › Themes › Accessible themes raises key labels to 7:1 contrast for every theme. If one still looks wrong, please tell us its name (it appears in the chip after you swipe) at [email protected].

Can I share a theme with a friend?

Not yet. Sharing themes with a link is coming in a later update, along with favourites.

Sounds and haptics

How do I turn key sounds off, or change them?

Go to Settings › Sounds. You can turn key sounds off, change the volume, and either let each theme pick its own pack (Match the theme) or choose one pack to keep. Tap a pack to hear it.

Why don’t I hear anything when my phone is on silent?

On purpose. Calsee follows the iPhone’s silent switch, and on Android it stays quiet in silent, vibrate and Do Not Disturb. To hear key sounds anyway, turn on Settings › Sounds › Play in silent mode.

Calsee mixes with other audio, so your music keeps playing.

How do I turn off vibration?

Turn off Haptic feedback in Settings. Calsee also respects your phone’s own haptics setting.

Amount in words

What is the line under the result?

It’s the amount in words, shown for numbers from 1,000 up, such as “≈ 12.35 crore” or “≈ 123.46 million”. Tap it to switch between the short form and every word; long-press it to copy the text.

“≈” means the short form is rounded. When there’s no “≈”, the words state the number exactly.

How do I switch between lakh/crore and million/billion, or to Hindi?

Open Settings › Amount in words:

  • Number system: lakh and crore, or million and billion. It follows your comma style until you pick one, and offers a one-tap switch when the two don’t match.
  • Words language: English or हिन्दी.
  • Mode: off, short, or full words.

Your data

Does Calsee collect my data?

No. There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and the app makes no network requests. Your history and settings stay on your device. Details are in the privacy policy.

How do I clear or stop saving history?

Open history and tap Clear all. To stop saving it, choose Don’t save history in Settings › History.

Does it work offline?

Completely. Everything, including theme generation and sounds, runs on your device.

Features

Is there a scientific mode or a unit converter?

Not yet. Scientific functions and a unit and currency converter are coming in later updates.

Email [email protected] with:

  1. What happened, and what you expected instead.
  2. The exact keys you pressed, for a wrong answer or a crash.
  3. The theme’s name, if it’s a display problem. Swipe once and back to see it in the chip.
  4. Your Calsee version (Settings › About Calsee), your phone or computer model, and its OS version.
  5. A screenshot or screen recording, if you can.

The app never sends anything on its own, so we only see what you choose to send.
